833 An Interesting Association Between Recurrent Acute Pancreatitis and Myotonic Dystrophy, A Case Report

Abstract Myotonic Dystrophy(MD) is an autosomal dominant genetic condition affecting the musculoskeletal system. Recurrent acute pancreatitis(RAP) a frequent presentation in emergency surgical scenario with two or more episodes of established pancreatitis separated by minimum 3 month periods. We report here case patient presenting background Dystrophy third episode RAP. Diagnostic work up led to discovery microlithiasis as possible cause our patient. Literature review reports other detailing potential association between MD and at time writing. This could be due disturbances pancreatobiliary system, resulting from sphincter Oddi dysfunction (SOD) gallbladder myotonia affects smooth striated muscle gastrointestinal tract. In report, we highlight importance understanding how rare for common clinicians should aware of.
